Weddings
I just wanted to write and thank you for the tremendous
job you did on my wedding DVD. You were professional, funny, friendly,
and courteous and your production was unique and top-notch. You have
provided my whole family with a gem of a keepsake that will be enjoyed
and cherished for generations to come.
From
my experience, most wedding videos/DVD's I've seen, although
often beautiful and appropriately reverent, are very boring and indeed,
cliché. Your "interviewing" process and "real" takes
on the series of events that lead up to the pivotal moments were
priceless.
In a fairytale setting, weddings go on without a hitch. Everything
is perfect. But anyone who has ever been married knows that there
are a million things to do and account for. People are nervous, people
are exhausted, and problems do crop up. I loved the way you took
footage of the whole process: from decorating, to catering, to the
ceremony, and finally, the reception. Your diligence in interviewing
all the main players was phenomenal and the material you coaxed from
them was both witty and poignant.
The actual DVD "production" itself was fantastic. The
first image of the opening "menu", which boasted a wonderful "soft
lens" image of my wife and myself behind an animated gossamer
curtain, playing our ceremonial music, set the tone for what was
to follow. At times the DVD was beautiful and serene, while at other
times it was genuinely funny. But at all times, I felt as though
I was watching a professional film/documentary instead of a video.
I was unsure of your intentions
when you asked me to provide you with the music we had planned
for the ceremony and reception. but
when I saw and heard the way you edited the footage to the music,
I was laughing out loud for hours. Your humor in creating "characters" for
the DVD was amazing. I could tell that you spent time talking to
the "cast" (our guests and family) and the way you edited
the interview footage itself was thoughtful, thematic, and often
hilarious.
Your captioning
and timing were also remarkable.
You have something
special going on here. You have actually found a formula
that works. Sure everyone
pays for and watches their wedding video, it's tradition. But there
are so many long boring parts that only the main players would appreciate,
while the rest of the family politely suffers. Your production created
a "film" that my whole family actually loved and has watched
again, and again. Everyone wanted his or her own copy. The
DVD was so pro and funny I actually sit down new friends and acquaintances
to watch it. They always "go in" skeptical, but come out
laughing and inspired. Kudos. Good luck with your business. You deserve
to make a million bucks out of this! Again, let me know if there
is any way I can help promote your unique production.
